About us

Add Hope is a growing initiative dedicated to supporting children diagnosed with cancer and their families through reliable information, human connection, and emotional support. Every year, approximately 15,000 children in the United States are diagnosed with cancer. Beyond the medical treatments they face, many of these children—and their families—are left with countless questions, anxieties, and unknowns. That’s where Add Hope comes in.

We believe that knowledge can ease fear, and connection can bring comfort. Our mission is to connect hospitalized children with trusted medical experts through live webinars and recorded video Q&A sessions, where they can ask real questions and get honest, age-appropriate answers. Whether it's about chemotherapy, how to handle hair loss, what to expect during surgery, or even how to stay connected with friends during treatment, our platform gives kids a space to be heard and informed.

Our core program is a Q&A video series featuring conversations with pediatric oncologists, nurses, child life specialists, therapists, and other care team members. These recorded Zoom interviews are distributed nationally through patient support groups, hospital networks, and on our YouTube channel, making them accessible to families wherever they are. Each session is designed to be clear, compassionate, and reassuring—giving kids and families real insights from the people who understand the journey best.

In addition to the video series, we're creating a comprehensive resource guide based on these expert conversations. This guide will include key takeaways, tips for navigating treatment, mental health resources, and support tools for both children and their caregivers.

Why It Matters:

  • Pediatric cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children under the age of 15.

  • Many families feel overwhelmed by the complexity of treatment and the lack of accessible, kid-friendly information.

  • Emotional distress is common during and after treatment, and having trusted information can help reduce fear and anxiety

By giving families a way to hear directly from experts in a supportive and familiar format, Add Hope helps make a challenging time a little easier to navigate. We're here to empower children and families with knowledge, lift their voices, and—most importantly—add hope to every step of their journey.
